Luster was first used on clay in the 9th century and the knowledge was kept a secret by the alchemists until it was almost lost but reappeared in Europe in the 19th century. In the workshop we will experiment with commercial lusters for electric kilns, understanding the components, methods of work, safety, suppliers and equipment required as well as firing and finishing.
